Yarn Along....

Joining in with Ginny again over on Small Things with her yarn along in which we all share what we are currently knitting/crocheting as well as what we are reading.

Well for my reading I'm about half way through The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared. I'm reading it slowly, a little each night, due to a currently hectic schedule, but I'm enjoying it immensely. Fun, bizarre, amusing and interesting describe it best as it tells the story of the centenarian who escapes from the nursing home and finds himself embroiled in a very detailed plot including a suitcase full of money, a detective, an elephant and a group of gangsters. The book often delves into his past showing that his youth was just as fun and interesting and bizarre as his hundreth year is turning out to be.

For my knitting I'm still (still!!!!) working on Holly's stripey rainbow jumper. Just one sleeve and a neck trim to knit before it's finally ready for sewing up. This is the longest I've ever spent knitting an item for my children but as I mentioned life has just been so busy lately with all those birthdays and Valentines and now Mother's Day and Easter too...so much to make and do! I'm just biding my time and waiting for life to slow down a little so I can get back to my usual knitting speed. Although with a couple of long car journeys recently I did manage another few rows of the lace shawl/shrug intended for me...isn't it funny how this item, the only one I've ever cast on for myself, is always put to one side in favour of yet another hand knit for my littles?

How about you? What are you all currently reading and keeping your crafty hands busy with?
